My name is Isabel Enriquez, but, I prefer to go by Iz. Right now, I am studying Studio Art at University of the Pacific.

As I was growing up, my dad was an artist. When I was little, I would ask him to draw things for me. He humored me for as while, but eventually, he told me to draw it myself, and so I did.

When I was little, I always had images in my head of what majestic being I would draw today... When those never worked out, I started to draw real people. I always thought of drawing faces to be one of the most difficult subjects to draw because we all know what a face looks like. There's also a live model to compare to, so even the slightest mistake can make the entire piece feel off.

Despite the challenge, people were all that I would draw. I wanted people to know that I was looking at them. I wanted people to see themselves in the way I do. I wanted them to be happy.

After drawing so many portraits, drawing somehow just felt easier for me, but that creative spark, well, I'm still looking for that.

At the moment, I am still exploring what being an artist means to me. Although I am unsure of what direction I want to take, I am enjoying my journey and learning along the way.
